A bus trip to Taipei city center from Taoyuan Airport takes around an hour and the ticket costs NT$125.
If your flight lands at late night and your hotel is close to the main train station, you do not need to get a taxi. Bus 1819 runs 24 hours a day, every 20 minutes to Taipei Main Station.
Taoyuan Airport MRT is the only direct railway line that connects Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to Taipei city center, Taipei Train Station.
The line has stops at Terminal 1, 2 and 3 and there are two types of trains operate: Express and Commuter trains.
The journey to Taipei Train Station takes 38 minutes with Express trains and 45 minutes with Commuter trains. The trains operate every 15 minutes between 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
The ticket from the airport to Taipei Train Station costs NT$160 and can be bought from the ticket machines located at the stations.
The trains offer comfortable journey with free Wi-Fi and charging stations.
The only railway option was to get to Taoyuan HSR Station with using a shuttle and then take a train to Taipei Train Station. After the opening of Taoyuan Airport MRT line, this option is not convenient anymore.

The ticket from Taoyuan HSR Station to Taipei Train Station costs NT$165 and the journey takes around 25 minutes. The trains run from 7:00 AM to 11:40 PM, every 30 minutes.

The most comfortable but at the same time expensive way to get to Taipei city center from Taoyuan Airport is to get a taxi.
The taxi stands are located right outside the arrivals area and they are available 24 hours a day.
A usual trip to Taipei downtown takes around 35-40 min and the cost is approximately between NT$1250-1400.
