The easiest and most comfortable way to reach Rome city center is to take shuttle buses.
All the shuttle buses arrive at Rome’s main train station, Roma Termini, which is the last stop This train station is Rome’s hub of metro, buses and tram services; you can find connections to any place in Rome from this station.
The journey to city center takes around 30 minutes.
The most modern and efficient service is being offered by Terravision. One-way ticket costs just €5, you can get your tickets online and avoid queue.
Public bus 720 has also started to offer connection from the airport; you can get to its last stop Metro B - Laurentina in around 40 minutes. However, keep in mind that to get to central Rome, you will need to transfer to metro network and it might be tiring if you have a long flight and luggage. The tickets cost €1.50.
Rome Ciampino Airport does not have any direct metro/train connection.
The closest train station, Ciampino Station, can be reached by Atral bus in 5 minutes. The buses operate from 5:20 AM to 11:30 PM, every 10 minutes. The tickets cost €1.20 and can be bought directly on the bus or from the office inside the arrival hall.
Once you arrive to Ciampino Station, you can take trains to Rome city center.
The trains run from 5:30 AM to 11:20 PM (6:00 AM to 10:45 PM on Sundays), every 10 minutes. The tickets cost €1.50 and the trip takes around 15 minutes.
You can find the taxis right outside of the terminal. Be sure to take official taxis that are white and have a taxi sign on the roof.
All the authorized taxis run by meter and a typical journey to Rome takes around 30 minutes with an approximate cost of €35.
