There's no direct bus service to central Moscow, but you can connect to the metro by taking the following buses:
• Bus 851 and minibus 949 both go to Rechnoy Vokzal Metro Station
• Bus 817 and minibus 817 both go to Planernaya Metro Station
The bus journey to either station takes about 40 minutes.
Buses leave approximately every 30 minutes, between 5:30 AM–00:50 AM.
A ticket costs between ₽55-75.
There's also a night bus, the H1, which goes to Leninsky Prospekt Station. Night buses run from 1:00 AM–5:30 AM.
Even though the bus is the cheaper option compared to the Aeroexpress train, it's better to take the train, as the journey will be much more comfortable, and you'll avoid both traffic jams and linguistic challenges!
Aeroexpress train service connects Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport with Belorussky Railway Station in the center.
The journey to Belorussky Station takes about 30-40 minutes.
A one-way ticket costs ₽420 online. You can also buy your ticket at the machines in the terminal with either cash or credit card, but it will cost ₽500.
Aeroexpress trains run every 30 minutes, from 5:00 AM–00:30 AM.
The train station is located on the 3rd floor of the airport.
As Moscow is a huge city with regular traffic jams, the Aeroexpress is the best transportation option from the airport, as you'll avoid traffic (and linguistic challenges!).
Belorussky Railway Station is the second biggest train station in Moscow, and has train connections to Austria, Belarus, The Czech Republic, France and Germany.
There's also a metro station at Belorussky Railway Station. Moscow has one of the most well-connected metro networks in the world, and taking the metro is a great way to get to any part of the city.
You'll find authorized taxi booths on the first floor of each terminal building.
A taxi trip to central Moscow takes between 30-60 minutes.
You can also check out the different taxi services and book a taxi (or check the exact location of the taxi stands in each terminal in more detail) though Taxi Sheremetyovo website.
These taxis have a flat rate of ₽2100 to central Moscow areas (check this online map of taxi zones and prices).
If you don't want to deal with the hassle of taxi companies or long bus queues, you can prebook a ride via Kiwitaxi, an online booking platform that offers reliable and cheap airport transfers worldwide. The English-speaking driver will wait for you at the airport even if your flight is delayed, holding a sign with your name on it.
Taxi drivers rarely speak English, so be sure to have the address and phone number of your hotel written down in Russian.
