The 308 bus route connects Domodedovo Airport to Domodedovskaya Station. From this station you can get to any part of the city on the Moscow Metro System, one of the most well-connected metro networks in the world.
The bus trip to Domodedovskaya Station takes 30-40 minutes.
There are two lines on this route:
• The express bus, which runs from 6:00 AM–00:00 AM, with departures every 15 minutes. A one-way ticket costs ₽100.
• The shuttle bus, which runs from 6:00 AM–00:00 AM, with departures every 15 minutes, and from 00:00 AM–06:00 AM, with departures every 40 minutes. A one-way ticket costs ₽120.
The bus stop is located on level one of the arrivals terminal, outside of exit 2.
Even though the bus is cheaper than the Aeroexpress, it's better to take the train, as the journey will be much more comfortable and you'll avoid both traffic jams and linguistic challenges!
Aeroexpress train service connects Domodedovo Airport with Paveletsky Rail Terminal in the center of Moscow. From this terminal station you can get to anywhere in the city by using Moscow's extremely well-connected metro network.
The journey to Paveletsky Rail Terminal Station takes about 45 minutes.
A one-way ticket purchased online costs ₽420 (₽500 from ticket machines in the terminal, which accept both cash and credit card, ₽299 if you pay with PayPal).
Aeroexpress trains operate from 6:00 AM–00:00 AM, with departures every 30 minutes.
The train departs from just opposite of the domestic terminal exit; simply follow the 'Aeroexpress' signs to reach the train platform.
As Moscow is a huge city with regular traffic jams, the Aeroexpress is by far the best transportation option from the airport, as you'll avoid the traffic.
You'll find authorized, pre-paid taxis in each terminal building.
A typical taxi trip to Moscow city center takes about 1.5-2 hours (mainly because of traffic congestion) and costs between ₽1600-2000.
When you arrive at the airport, go to the following taxi service desks to book your taxi:
At the taxi service counter, you'll be asked for an address to your destination and given a choice of taxi, and you'll then be issued a receipt.
If you don't want to deal with the hassle of taxi companies or long bus queues, you can prebook a ride via Kiwitaxi, an online booking platform that offers reliable and cheap airport transfers worldwide. The English-speaking driver will wait for you at the airport even if your flight is delayed, holding a sign with your name on it.
• Taxi drivers rarely speak English, so be sure to have your hotel's phone number and address written down in Russian.
• Be careful not to take any unauthorized taxis, both for security reasons and to avoid any surprise charges.
