Three shuttle companies (Malpensa Shuttle, Terravision and Autostradale) connect Malpensa Airport to central Milan.
All three buses go directly to the Central Station (Milano Centrale) and operate every 20 minutes from 5:05 AM to 00:10 AM. The journey takes about 50 minutes.
A one-way ticket costs €8, a return €14. Tickets for all three bus services can be purchased on the bus or at the respective ticket stands in the baggage claim area.
Terravision shuttle tickets can also be purchased online (this is the most comfortable and convenient shuttle service to Milan; getting your tickets online will save you time as you avoid queuing).
The bus stops are located outside of Exit 3 (Uscita 3) and 4 (Uscita 4), in Terminal 2.
While the Express Train is the quickest way to get to central Milan (30-50 minutes, depending on where you need to go), EasyJet flights land in Terminal 2, which is 10 minutes by free shuttle to Terminal 1, where the train station is located. However, considering the time it takes to transfer between terminals, should you land in T2, the best option is to take one of the Airport Shuttle buses that go to Milan Central Station.
If your flight lands in Terminal 1, the quickest way to get to central Milan is to take the Malpensa Express Train, which has three different train lines running from Malpensa Airport to the following destinations in central Milan, all connecting with different metro lines:
• Milano Centrale (Central Station): connecting with the yellow and green metro lines (M3 and M2), 50 minutes travel time
• Porta Garibaldi: connecting with green and lilac metro lines (M2 and M5), 40 minutes travel time
• Cadorna: connecting with the red and green metro lines (M1 and M2), 30 minutes travel time
The train journey to Cadorna takes about 30 minutes, while the journey to Milano Centrale and Porta Garibaldi takes more, as the trains make more stops.
A one-way ticket costs €13 and can be bought at the train station in the ticket machines or from the Malpensa Express website.
Trains depart every 30 minutes from around 5:00 AM to 00:00 AM.
EasyJet flights land in Terminal 2, which is 10 minutes by free shuttle to Terminal 1. However, the shuttle services aren't always very reliable, so should you land in T2, a better option is to take one of the shuttle buses that run to Milan Central Station (a trip of about 50 minutes).
Malpensa Airport is located 50 km from Milan city.
The taxi journey from Malpensa Airport to central Milan takes about an hour.
Taxi fares from the airport to the center of Milan have a fixed price of €90.
