There are no direct bus services connecting DFW Airport to downtown Dallas.
A bus trip to central Dallas requires a transfer and can take up to 2 hours - we recommend taking the train instead!
❯ The easiest way to get to downtown Dallas from DFW Airport is to take the DART Rail (Orange Line). The trip to Akard Station (5 minutes by foot from Dallas Union Station, the main train station in Dallas) takes about 50 minutes.
A single ticket costs $2.50 (a day pass is $5). You can buy tickets at the train station kiosks.
Trains run every 20 minutes from 4:00 AM–1:00 AM, 7 days a week.
They depart from the lower level of Terminal A.
If you land in one of the other terminals (B, C, D or E), you can take the Skylink Shuttle Train to Terminal A – it runs 24/7, but only inside the security checkpoints, so if you need to first pick up your luggage from baggage claim, take the free Terminal Link Shuttle Bus between terminals instead.
❯ Another train option, but much less convenient, is to take two free shuttle buses to reach CentrePort/DFW Airport Rail Station, where you can take the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) train to Dallas Union Station (the main train station in Dallas). The train trip itself takes about 40 minutes.
Trains operate every 30-60 minutes depending on the time of day, from 5:19 AM–1:50 AM on weekdays, 6:19 AM–1:20 AM on Saturdays. The train doesn't run on Sundays. A single ticket costs $2.50 and can be bought at the ticket counters.
You can check the timetable from the Trinity Railway Express website.
• Do keep in mind that TRE trains don't run on Sundays.
• You'll need a '1 Zone TRE' single ticket, which costs $2.50, and is valid for two hours for transfers on any DART bus/rail services. You can buy your ticket at the vending machines at the station (you can check out further zones and prices from the online).
• To reach CentrePort/DFW Airport Rail Station, first take a shuttle from the designated stop in your terminal to the Remote South parking lot (a relatively short ride, and shuttles depart every 15 minutes or so), and from there take a second shuttle (a 15 minutes or so ride; shuttles leave every 15 minutes, every day except for Sunday).
A taxi trip from DFW Airport to downtown Dallas takes about 25 minutes.
Expect to pay around $50, unless you agree on a flat rate before departure.
The taxi ranks can be found on the upper level of Terminals A, B, C and E, and on the lower level of Terminal D.
Should you have any questions, an 'Airport Guest Assistant' is available at taxi stands between 8:00 AM–00:00 AM. After hours, you can call (+1) 972 973 4062 to organize a taxi pick-up.
If you don't want to deal with the hassle of taxi companies or long bus queues, you can prebook a ride via Kiwitaxi, an online booking platform that offers reliable and cheap airport transfers worldwide. The English-speaking driver will wait for you at the airport even if your flight is delayed, holding a sign with your name on it.
